Suzuki Gixxer

According to the official Suzuki website, the Suzuki Gixxer would retail for Rs 78,909 (on-road Delhi). Apart from unveiling the pricing, Suzuki has also disclosed the technical specifications of the new motorcycle. The Suzuki Gixxer will be powered by a 155cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor churning out 14.8PS at 8,000rpm and peak torque of 14Nm at 6,000rpm. Power is transferred to the rear-wheel by a five-speed gearbox unlike the six-speed unit seen on the Suzuki GS 150R. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has also equipped the 155c mill with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) system that it claims helps in improving the fuel efficiency of the bike.

Suzuki Gixxer instrument cluster

The Suzuki Gixxer has created a lot of curiosity among Indian two-wheeler consumers owing to its aggressive styling after its public debut at the 2014 Auto Expo. Design elements that help the Gixxer stand out among its rivals include its neatly crafted headlamp, chiselled fuel tank with tank shrouds, beefy chrome tipped muffler and chunky 140 section rear tyre. The bike also employs an all-digital instrument cluster with gear indicator and customisable rev limiter. Fuel tank capacity stands at 12-litre and the bike tips the scale at 135kg. The Gixxer's braking duties are handled by a single disc setup from Bybre at the front and a drum setup at the rear.

At a price of Rs 78,909 (on-road Delhi), the Suzuki will be pitched against the likes of the Yamaha FZ-S, Hero Xtreme and Honda CB Trigger in the premium 150cc segment. We will be soon riding the Suzuki Gixxer, stay tuned for our review and more news on the bike.
