Hyundai has put up details regarding the new Sonata on its website, raising hopes of the car’s launch soon. The details posted include a brochure, technical specifications, downloadable wallpapers, information on the exterior and interior of the car, dealer locations and other general information on the Sonata. ZigWheels does a quick scan of the website to get you all the details.

The new Sonata was unveiled at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo in January and is expected to launch in India in March. According to Hyundai, the fluidic sculpture on the new Sonata is derived from the Orchid flower and the Korean car maker has tried its best at meeting beautiful form with practical function. The big front chrome grille signifies power and sophistication like never before, matched with exotic sculpted head and fog lights. That’s not all, the lines run right through the car with seamless effort that truly depict a sense of calm, stability with a steadfast grip on the ground like a waterfall in the midst of a forest. The rear, too, is sporty and exuberant with an LED combination lamp and chrome-tipped dual exhaust.

Under the hood is a 2.4-litre GDI engine, which gives the impression of being a diesel but is actually a petrol engine that produces 201PS of power at 6,300rpm. The 4-cylinder engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The new Sonata has a raft of comfort and convenience features such as 10-way adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, dual zone fully automatic climate control, steering with audio remote and Bluetooth function, cool glove box, heated and power mirrors, among others. The sedan is high on safety as well with features such as dual front airbags with passenger detection system, side and curtain airbags, electronic stability program, ABS with EBD, brake assist, reverse parking sensors, impact sensing door unlock, etc.
