Kia India has launched the Sonet Aurochs Edition in the country from Rs 11.85 lakh (ex-showroom). This new special edition model is based on the mid-spec HTX trim and comes with the choice of either the turbo-petrol or diesel powertrain options. And as for the premium you need to pay, we have detailed the variant-wise pricing in the table below:

Powertrain

HTX

Aurochs Edition

Premium

Turbo-petrol iMT

Rs 11.45 lakh

Rs 11.85 lakh

Rs 40,000

Turbo-petrol DCT

Rs 11.99 lakh

Rs 12.39 lakh

Rs 40,000

Rs 12.65 lakh

Rs 40,000

Diesel AT

Rs 13.05 lakh

Rs 13.45 lakh

Rs 40,000

You’d have to shell out Rs 40,000 more for the Aurochs Edition over the HTX trim it’s based on.

Orange is the theme for the Aurochs edition. As you can see, the inserts in the grille, bumper, doors and wheel hub caps get a very tasteful (yet not overdone) splash of orange. Also exclusive to this trim are the skid plates at the front and rear that lend a rugged look. And lastly, on the outside, there’s an ‘Aurochs’ badging on the nose to remind you what you’re driving.

The Sonet Aurochs Edition comes in four shades: Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver and Glacier White Pearl.

Note: Top-end variant's interior image used for representation purposes.

Changes on the inside are even more limited. Subtle splashes of orange can be found on the stitching of the gear lever and steering wheel and that’s about it. Also, this being based on a mid-spec trim means it misses out on niceties such as ventilated front seats, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and six airbags.

But as a package, the Sonet Aurochs Edition still gets plenty of kit including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, a sunroof and cruise control. Passenger safety is taken care of by four airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and rear parking sensors.
