Skoda's sub-4 metre SUV mid-spec variant seen undergoing testing.
Adopts a split headlamp design and shares resemblance with the Kushaq.
Mid-spec variants will miss out on comfort and convenience features to keep costs in check.
Anticipated features include ventilated front seats, a sunroof, and a digital driver’s display.
Expected to be powered by a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, mated with either a 6-speed manual or a torque converter.
Skoda India had begun testing its forthcoming sub-4 metre SUV, which is scheduled for launch in the Indian market by March 2025. We have spotted it again, and despite the camouflage, these spy shots offer a better glimpse into what looks like a mid-spec variant. In this article, we try to speculate on these spied images at large.
Exterior
The upcoming SUV features Skoda's distinctive butterfly grille at the front, accompanied by LED daytime running lights (DRLs) that double up as indicators. Positioned just below the DRLs are the LED headlights, housed separately for the split setup. It could be possible that lower variants might miss out on full LED units and rather could get a halogen setup.
The overall silhouette of Skoda's sub-4 metre SUV resembles its elder sibling, the Kushaq, but a slightly shrunken version of it. This very test car was spotted with black wheel covers, which suggest the mid-spec nature of this test mule. Higher end variants are expected to be sporting dual-tone alloys. To woo the Indian buyer, a sunroof is expected to be present in the top trims, but this particular test mule cannot be seen with one.
At the rear, it very much resembles the Kushaq, and is likely to get a similar styling for its tail lights as well. Also note the absence of a rear windscreen wiper and a defogger. Higher-end variants are expected to be well-equipped though.

Interior & Features
These spy shots offered a very vague sneak at the interior of the upcoming model. Despite being camouflaged, it appears to feature a touchscreen infotainment system, likely an 8-inch unit as seen in the Kushaq. Higher-spec models are anticipated to sport a larger 10-inch unit.
Additional anticipated features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, a digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof, and keyless entry with push-button start.
Passenger safety features are expected to include up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, 360 degree camera setup, electronic stability control, seatbelt alarm for all seats, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Powertrain
The Skoda sub-4 metre SUV is anticipated to be powered by the same 1-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine found in the Kushaq, producing 115 PS and 178 Nm. It is possible that for this smaller SUV, the engine could be de-tuned a little. It is expected to be offered in two transmission options, a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Price and Launch
It's possible that Skoda India will price this upcoming model at approximately Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) when it hits the market around March 2025. Skoda had also introduced a campaign “Name Your Skoda”, to crowdsource the name for its upcoming sub-4m SUV. Patrons can participate and suggest the name for the upcoming SUV and stand a chance to even win the car.
It will compete with other sub-4m SUVs like the upcoming Mahindra XUV 3OO (XUV300 facelift), Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, and the Hyundai Venue.
