The Bollywood actor has always been particular about the cars he drives in movies

Bollywood star Salman Khan is known for making action-packed movies in which he tackles several different roles. But whether he’s playing police officer Chulbul Pandey in the Dabangg series or a secret agent in Ek Tha Tiger, Salman always picks what he drives, and the cars in his films in general, quite carefully.

As the actor turns 57 years old today, we take a look back at some of the most awesome and exquisite cars he has driven in his movies over the years.

Race 3: Bugatti Veyron

Okay, Race 3 isn’t the most memorable recent movie by Salman, but it’s meant to do one job – get your adrenaline pumping. In the movie, his daily driver is a beautiful Bugatti Veyron, but he also drives a gleaming black Datsun 240 Z sports car. If you want to watch Race 3, it’s avialable at this link on prime video.

Radhe: Jeep Wrangler

Salman plays a cop in the movie Radhe (2021), in which he drives a Jeep Wrangler SUV. Around a decade earlier, a bright yellow Wrangler Rubicon two-door convertible had appeared in the movie Ready. Radhe is available to watch on Zee5 at this link.

Ready: Mazda MX 5 NA

In this movie, Salman drives a sweet, red Mazda MX-5, the first-gen (also known as NA) Miata. He later crashes the car in the woods, and after a quick rescue operation for the heroine (who’s stuck in a tree over a cliff after the crash) he takes the wheel of the aforementioned yellow Wrangler. This period movie is set in the post-partition days of India, and it features a wide array of classic cars. Katrina Kaif drives a roofless first-gen Land Rover Defender, and Salman takes on a Volkswagen Beetle and Austin Mini while riding a motorbike in a ‘wheel of death’ duel. Other cars that appear in the movie include a Citroen 2CV and Fiat 500. Catch the movie on Prime at this link

Lucky: Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia

This 2005 movie pre-dates Salman’s action movie days. He was known for more romantic roles back then, so Lucky: No Time for Love portrays Salman in a different light. The movie is set in Russia, but interestingly, Salman was driving a German car in the movie – a beautiful black Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia, one of the most exquisite Volkswagens ever made. The movie is available to watch on Hotstar at this link

Mind you, this list is far from exhaustive. If you can remember him driving something interesting in his movies, fire away in the comments below.
