Test mule of the new generation Dzire has been spotted for the first time, revealing its rear end.
Resembles with the current-gen Swift but with redesigned bumper and tail lamps.
Interior to get updated dashboard layout with 3-spoke steering wheel and Fronx-like AC control switches.
Likely to come equipped with 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging and six airbags.
To be powered by the new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, replacing the current petrol unit.
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift, which is expected to debut sometime this year, will also bring about updates to its sub-4m sedan counterpart, the Dzire. While the launch timeline for the next-gen Dzire has not been confirmed, we expect Maruti to introduce the Dzire shortly after launching the 2024 Swift in India, as it has been spotted on our roads for the first time.
Let’s decode what its first spy images provide us with.
From the latest spy images we can see the new-gen Dzire’s rear end closely resembling the current one. However, updates are evident in the form of a revised bumper and a new tail lamp design with signature DRLs, differentiating it from the current Dzire.
While its side profile is not clearly visible, we did notice the updated multi-spoke alloy wheels which look sporty. Overall, you can expect the next-gen Dzire to showcase design updates similar to those on the 2024 Swift, which you can explore over here.

The spy shots did not provide us with any view of its interior, but it is expected to feature an updated cabin with a new 3-spoke steering wheel, a floating touchscreen infotainment unit, and a revised central console with Fronx-like AC control switches.

In terms of features, expect a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and wireless phone charging, alongside features such as cruise control and keyless entry with push-button start/stop. On the safety front, it should come equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and a reverse parking camera with parking sensors.
With the 2024 Swift, Suzuki introduced a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, replacing the current four-cylinder unit. This new powertrain, producing 82 PS and 108 Nm, will likely also power the next-gen Dzire, and will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options.
We expect Maruti to launch the next-gen Dzire soon after introducing the 2024 Swift to our market. It will carry a higher price tag compared to the current Dzire, which starts from Rs 6.56 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will lock horns with the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and the Tata Tigor.
