Queen Elizabeth II gets a new Range Rover military parade vehicle

The British royal family is known to have chauffeured themselves in cars from manufacturers such as Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin on several occasions including state travels as well as weddings. With so many cars in the royal stable, the Queen has recently taken delivery of a specially built Range Rover, strictly for the reviewing of military colour guards.

The Queen rides in open-top State Review cars for official ceremonies which enables her to greet the crowds directly without hindrance. Her 2015 Range Rover State Review has the royal flag mounted on the hood and is painted in the same elegant shade of maroon as her previous model.

This is the fourth State Review vehicle which Land Rover has delivered to Her Majesty, dating back to the 1953 Land Rover Series I and replacing the previous Range Rover State Review delivered in 2002.

The vehicle was used for the first time in Cardiff, where the Queen was presented new colours to the Royal Welsh Regiment over which she presides as Colonel-in-Chief.
