Chevrolet Sail UVA launched at Rs 4.44 lakh
Made in India, for India and by India the Chevrolet Sail UVA has been launched starting from a price of Rs 4.44 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and will be available as both petrol and diesel models in a total of seven variants

It’s already been test driven over 10 lakh kms in India alone and as part of GM’s major overhaul on all its existing products on sale here in India, the Sail UVA now becomes the bow tie brand’s fifth product to be launched in India in 2012.
The original Aveo UVA was a decent looking hatch and one that was particularly praised for its spacious interiors. But with the launch of this Shanghai-designed Sail which has already seen a tremendous response in Chinese markets GM is hopeful that this premium hatchback would meet the requirements of the Indian market and Indian car buyers.
Designed and developed at GM’s Pan-Asia Technical Automotive Center in Shanghai for China plus emerging markets the new Chevrolet Sail UVA just like our spy shots taken earlier this year suggested is a significantly bigger and better looking car compared to the outgoing model with Chevy’s signature design cues, a dual-port grille adorned with a gold bowtie, better styled headlamps and fog lamps, bigger side windows and a wider-opening rear door.

Speaking at the launch of the new Chevrolet Sail UVA, Anil Mehrotra, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, GM India said, “The much-anticipated Chevrolet Sail U-VA hatchback is an important addition to GM’s small car portfolio in India. It brings a new sense of vitality to the largest, fastest-growing and most competitive segment in the domestic passenger car market.”
Salient interior features on the new Sail UVA (Read : Chevrolet Sail UVA : First Drive) include dual-color fabric, chrome highlights and more than 25 smart storage spaces. Don’t expect a centre console as radical as the Beat. It’s a rather plain jane interior space with regular rotary dials for the AC unit, a three-spoke steering wheel devoid of any mounted controls and a very ordinary looking music system.
The 248-litre volume boot makes the new UVA one of the most spacious luggage haulers in its segment. Another fantastic feature is the Flex flat folding rear seat that increases the back to 1,134 litres. With its low height and wide proportions the Sail will surely attract buyers for whom space and storage are priorities.

I am already a Chevrolet user. Bought AVEO-UVA in 9007 used for more than 170000 Kms without spending a single naya paisa of maintenance other than timely routine checks and servicing. Now I am a proud owner of SAIL - LS Petrol also

Good one by Chevrolet. seems like they have all the new features with new technology. a hatchback with spacious interiors is a good option for a crowded city like Mumbai. Gives a good mileage of 22 kmpl too. found more info on their website.
