Undisguised Maruti Suzuki S-Cross spotted testing

Maruti Suzuki has been testing its upcoming crossover S-Cross comprehensively for months now and on several occasions has it been spotted, each time giving us more details about the car. The car was spotted testing once again but this time round it was undisguised. 

At the front the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross gets a bold two-slat chrome grille that flaunts the company’s logo. On either side, are those massive projector type headlights with Daytime Running Lights. The S-Cross will sport 16-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes on all four corners and scuff plats up front. To make the S-Cross look aggressive in profile, Maruti Suzuki has fitted it with black cladding on the door and wheel arch. At the back the taillights get chrome accents. Other features include, button start, reverse parking sensors and steering mounted controls. 

Under the hood, the S-Cross will be offered in petrol as well as diesel engine options. It will come with the same 1.4-litre unit that has also been plunked on the Ertiga. In that state of tune it makes 95PS and 130Nm. Maruti Suzuki will use th3 1.3-litre DDiS unit that churns 90PS and 200Nm in the S-Cross as well. Both these engines come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Internationally, it also comes with a 1.6-litre petrol unit that is mated to a CVT and in an AWD trim, but we will have to wait and see if it is brought to Indian shores. 

We expect the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross to be launched in June at a price range of Rs 7-11 lakh.
