Two world debuts from Peugeot at the Frankfurt Motor Show: the 508 RXH and the HX1

In order to reaffirm its position as an automotive environmental leader, Peugeot would debut the 508 RXH, a diesel-electric hybrid, and the HX1, a concept car that combines radical styling with environmental excellence.

Due for launch in Spring 2012 across the globe, Peugeot unveils the 508 RXH providing a modern and a distinctive upmarket model from Peugeot, with its individual front end, flared wings, new daytime running lights and an exclusive body colour.

A wider track and 18 inch wheels also compliment the overall stance of the 508 RXH. Adding to this, the 3008HYbrid4 is the second of Peugeots to receive a diesel-hybrid makeover. With a combined output of 200 bhp from its two liter HDi FAP diesel mill and the electric motor powering the rear axle which also provides a choice of four HYbrid4 modes – Automatic, ‘Zero Emissions Vehicle’, Sport or four wheel drive.

Peugeot is exhibiting a limited edition 508 RXH, 300 in numbers which can be pre-reserved online from the opening of the motor show.

The HX1 will be making its worldwide debut in Frankfurt , is a six seater vehicle with somewhat an unconventional styling. By provding a unique interior space, unparalleled aerodynamics and a totally new driving experience.  Having an unusual CPV architecture at a length of 4.95 metres, the concept vehicle has been designed with complete aerodynamics in mind.

Having four reverse opening doors, an innovative modular design, make the HX1 stand out when compared to other concept cars. A combined output of 299 bhp from a 2.2 liter HDi engine and electric motor driving the rear axle, the diesel-electric hybrid provides practicality with economy.
