Renault Kwid

Right from the time Renault first unveiled the Kwid to the media in June, the car has garnered tremendous interest among the masses. We drove it last month and learned that the car lived up to all the hype surrounding it. And then hitting the final nail on the head, Renault introduced the car at a starting price of Rs 2.56 lakh for the base variant and Rs 3.53 lakh for the top-end trim (ex-showroom Delhi). Less than a month from its launch the Renault Kwid has already received more than 25,000 bookings. The positive response for the Kwid isn’t simply due to the pricing but Renault has managed to make it a well rounded offering. To achieve competitive pricing, Renault has ensured strong localisation of as much as 98 per cent. From being the most efficient petrol car in the country claiming 25.17kmpl to the promise of a maintenance policy extending up to 50,000km or 2 years, the Kwid offers a lot for the price.

Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said “The Renault KWID has created a huge excitement since its launch and we are thrilled with the response it has received just at the on-set of the festive season. The Indian consumer has shown tremendous confidence and trust in Renault brand, the initial response has been very exhilarating and the bookings are constantly increasing.  We are witnessing remarkable footfalls in dealerships across all regions since the launch of Renault KWID. The innovative Virtual Showroom and the Renault KWID app have received a tremendous response across India.

The Renault Kwid has been launched with a 799cc three-cylinder petrol unit that makes 54PS and 72Nm. Launched in six variants, the Kwid also comes with some very interesting segment first features. In India, the Renault Kwid competes against the Maruti Suzuki Alto and the Hyundai Eon.
