Next-Gen Renault Duster rendered

Renault Duster has been a very successful product of the French carmaker across the globe ever since its launch in 2010. Over 10 lakh units of this model have been sold worldwide, and this compact SUV is now ready for a refreshment after the end of a seven-year life cycle. Reports suggest that the Duster is likely to get an update sometime in 2017.

The all-new Duster will have the current design structure, maintaining a simple yet functional design language. According to the rendered image, the vehicle gets new headlights and grille. Similarly, the rear profile of the compact SUV features new taillamps and an updated bootlid. The car is expected to be loaded with extra safety features and a new layout for the interiors as well. Powertrain options are expected to be carried over from the current car.

The Renault Duster is currently available with two engine options in India - a 1.6-litre K4M petrol engine and a 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine. The petrol engine churns out 102PS of power and 145Nm of torque, while the oil burner is available in two states of tune – one delivering 84PS of power and 200Nm of torque, and the other producing 108PS of power and 248Nm of torque. Power is sent through a five-speed manual gearbox to either the front wheels or all four wheels, depending upon the variant.

The Duster is an important model for Renault in India. Over one lakh units of this SUV have been sold in India ever since its launch two years ago. The car is produced at Renault’s Chennai factory which caters to the demands of international markets such as UK, Ireland, Indonesia and South Africa.
