If you are worried about your car being misused by your driver, MapmyIndia has come up with a solution. Named DriveMate, this plug-and-play car tracking device continuously monitors the location of your car and sends the details to your smartphone via Drivemate app. It is currently being offered in two variants – base variant for Rs 9,990 and top for Rs 14,990 and comes with 12-month warranty as standard.
This little device can be connected easily to the OBD-II port which is located underneath the steering wheel of your car. Once connected, it has built-in GPS and internet facility which helps taking note of the car’s location. The same is then transmitted to the owner’s smartphone by making use of a Drivemate app which is easily compatible with Android, iOS and Windows devices.
This tracking device also keeps a record of the way your car is being driven. Aspects like sudden braking, over-speeding, instant acceleration and vehicle tampering can be tracked, which in return alerts the owner through the app. If you are opting for the top variant, you also get additional services such as owner connectivity with car service centre or car dealer for road-side assistance and service.
Apart from doing the tracking service, the device is also quite handy for storing electronic documents such as Registration Certificate, Insurance Policy, Driving License and can also keep track of service schedules.
