Yet another AMG from Mercedes-Benz in 2015 in India. And this time it is the ever popular C-Class that gets the full treatment from the wizards at Afalterbach. The all-new Mercedes-Benz C63 S AMG has been launched in India at a price of Rs 1.3 Crore and is gunning straight for its biggest rival, the extremely popular BMW M3. The C63 S is a real wheel drive performance variant of the C-Class and comes with a twin turbocharged V8.

In India, Mercedes-Benz will only offer the C63 in the more powerful S variant and not in standard guise. The S is not only more powerful, it is also loaded with more tech and more standard options than the normal car making it an even more interesting proposition. The C63 S comes standard with the 19-inch wheels and can also be equipped with the carbon ceramic brake package option. On the exterior front, the C63 S comes with much more aggressive look as compared to the standard car and is also noticeable lower, wider and of course louder than the standard car with its quad pipe exhaust. The new C63 S will also get the Designo option where owners could customize their car according to their own tastes in terms of trim, materials and seat options.

Powering the C63 S AMG is the near-identical 4.0-litre Biturbo engine that was first introduced in the AMG GT sportscar, a car that will make it to India after the C63 S. The V8 mill develops 517PS of power developed between 5,500rpm-6,250rpm and a colossal 700Nm of torque developed at a low 1,750rpm all the way to 4,500rpm. It is not a very high revving engine like its predecessor but develops a lot more power and torque. The C63 S can to the 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.0 seconds and has a top speed of 250kmph. The C63 S comes with dynamic engine mounts that improve handling and reduce vibrations. Gearbox duty is done by the AMG 7-speed Sports transmission that’s has been further worked on to suit the new engine. All in all, the C63 S guns straight for its rival, the notable and extremely capable BMW M3 and might see a lot of buyers in India.
