Less than a month back, Mahindra revealed its plans of introducing an offering in the compact-SUV class and christened it the TUV300. While we only got to see the sketches at that time, since then the Nashik-based car maker has been releasing teaser images on their official twitter handle. Earlier this month, Mahindra released a cropped image of the TUV300’s profile, showing the headlight alloy wheel and the wheel arch. And now the company has shared another photo revealing the steering wheel.
The steering looks all new and bears no resemblance with any of the existing Mahindra models. The image shared is possibly of the higher end-models as it comes with steering mounted controls. Behind the wheel, it sports a twin-pod instrument cluster with lots of tell-tale lights, similar to what we have seen on the older XUV500. The dashboard is expected to be a combination of black and beige, with chrome surrounds for the air con vents. While details of the TUV300’s design are still not entirely out, Mahindra did reveal earlier that the car will stay true to the brand’s DNA and to do that Mahindra has also taken help from legendary Italian design firm Pininfarina.
Coming to the mechanicals, the TUV300 will sport a rebadged 1.5-litre unit from mHawk family called mHawk80. While Mahidnra hasn’t revealed other details about the power and torque figures, we will get to know them as we get closer to its launch date. When the TUV300 will be launched on September 10, it will go against the likes of the Ford EcoSport.
