Mahindra adds an automatic variant to its popular SUV Scorpio; launches it at Rs 13.13 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Scorpio Automatic will be offered in a 2WD as well as a 4WD option, both of which will be sold in the top-of-the-line S10 variant

It’s raining automatic SUVs. Just a week after the launch of the Hyundai Creta, Mahindra has now launched an automatic variant of its popular SUV Scorpio. The Scorpio Automatic will be offered in a 2WD as well as a 4WD option, both of which will be sold in the top-of-the-line S10 variant. The Nashik-based car maker has priced the Scorpio Automatic 2WD at Rs 13.13 lakh, while the 4WD version will cost Rs 14.32 lakh. All prices ex-showroom Delhi).


Under the hood, the automatic variant will only be offered with the 2.2-litre mHawk engine that makes power of 120 horses and 280Nm of torque. All this power is sent to the wheels with the help of a 6-speed automatic transmission. The launch of the clutchless Scorpio makes it the cheapest SUV to offer 6-speed automatic transmission with 4WD as an option.

Needless to say, with regards to exterior looks and interior, the Scorpio Automatic will look identical to its manual transmission variant. The Scorpio Automatic will also have that predator grille flanked on either side by projector headlights and LED Daytime Running Lights. In profile and at the back too the Scorpio Automatic will look the same.

Loaded with features the Scorpio Automatic comes with Rain sensing wipers, dual front air bags, new blue-grey interiors, Shift-on-Fly 4 Wheel Drive and more. At Rs 13.13 lakh, the Scorpio Automatic has been priced cheaper than the Hyundai Creta.
