IBW organises Chai & Pakoda Mumbai ride

2015 edition of the popular Chai & Pakoda breakfast run was organised in Mumbai on November 22nd. The Mumbai edition of Chai & Pakoda ride marked the first event of the festival’s 2016 social calendar that would conclude with the 2016 India Bike Week (IBW) in Vagator, Goa. Bikers from over 23 motorcycling clubs participated in the event which started from Centre One mall in Navi Mumbai to Sheetal Dhabha in Lonavla. The total ride distance was 76km one-way and with pleasant morning weather after the overnight showers meant bikers enjoyed the ride. The best part about the Chai & Pakoda ride was the fact that participants who ride premium motorcycles like Harley-Davidson, Triumph and Kawasaki were riding together with bikers riding on entry-level motorcycles like Bajaj Pulsar, KTM’s, Royal Enfield’s etc which showcased the brotherhood among the riders. 

Prior to the start of the ride, the bikers were inducted through a ‘safety riding’ session by the DCP of Vashi, Mr. Arvind Salve who also flagged off the event. Post the inauguration, the bikers took to the road in packs of 30, each led by an IBW Marshal. The Marshals featured as pack leaders patrolling and guiding the stream of speed machines, maintaining a synchronized proximity between each riding group. Medical support was also provided as the IBW team set up a tailing ambulance service for the ride. More such Chai & Pakoda rides will be held at various cities across the country as a precursor to the 2016 IBW which is scheduled from February 19th and 20th.
