The competition is stiff in the compact sedan segment. Despite receiving a facelift in 2016, the Honda Amaze shows its age next to the Tigor, refreshed Xcent and the new Dzire. The Privilege Edition packs a healthy number of features for a small price hike of Rs 10,000 over the S(O) variants with manual transmission making it a great deal. The petrol variant costs Rs 6,48,888 and the diesel option will set you back by Rs 7,73,631 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Additional features on the Privilege edition include:
- Beige seat covers with 'Privilege' embossed
- 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Front centre armrest
- Body graphics and Privilege Edition emblem
- Rear parking sensors
Those are on top of the existing feature list which includes:
- Power mirrors
- Steering-mounted controls
- Rear armrest
- ABS (Diesel only)
- Driver and passenger airbags
The basic infotainment system in the S(O) is replaced with the touchscreen unit, which is the main draw here. It's the same unit found on the 2017 Honda City. It includes MirrorLink functionality to project a compatible Android phone's screen. The infotainment system can connect to the Internet via the optional WiFi receiver, which allows the system to update the maps with traffic data. You can also browse the web on the large touchscreen just like a tablet. Bluetooth streaming, calling and voice commands are also available. Connectivity options include aux, two USB, HDMI and two micro SD card slots (one for media and the other for maps) in addition to the 1.5GB of on-board storage.
Speaking about the Privilege Edition of Amaze, Jnaneswar Sen, senior vice president, marketing & sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “Our endeavour has always been to offer best in class features to our customers and we are happy to offer the Privilege Edition of the Honda Amaze with Digipad for advanced infotainment. The new edition with its enhanced value is a compelling offer for our Amaze customers and is available as limited edition.”
