In April 2013, Honda undertook the first phase of a price hike across the Brio, City and Accord to offset the increased cost of onboard diagnostic compliance changes (OBDC) and rising freight charges due to hike in diesel prices.
The second phase of the price hike has now been implemented by the Japanese car maker with prices of its new Amaze compact sedan going up by as much as Rs 7,900 depending on the variant in Chennai and Hyderabad. The price hike has also hit the company’s only SUV in India, the CR-V, with prices going up by Rs 6,000 to Rs 14,000 depending on the variant in Chennai and Hyderabad. The price hike can vary from city to city as it is calculated after taxes.
The Amaze was launched in April at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh for the base petrol variant and Rs 5.99 lakh for the base diesel. For complete variant-wise pricing details, visit: Honda Amaze price
