Fuel prices may fluctuate, share prices may rise and fall, but the one thing that is constant apart from the drop in our country’s GDP is the Bajaj Dominar price hikes. Yes, the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the Dominar 250 have received yet another price hike. The Bajaj Dominar 400 now retails for Rs 1,97,758, an increment of Rs 1,500. On the other hand, the Dominar 250 is now dearer by Rs 1,625, priced at Rs 1,65,715. Both motorcycles had received a price hike in September 2020, when the Dominar 250 saw a hefty jump of Rs 4,090 and the flagship Dominar of Rs 1,507 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).

These price hikes have robbed the Dominar 400 of the VFM tag that we had bestowed upon it when it was launched last year for Rs 1.73 lakh. Bajaj may have its reasons to increase the prices of its Dominar range, but this will further affect sales especially with the festive season around the corner. Besides, despite the features and firepower, the Dominar range hasn’t been able to make a mark for itself. Its combined sales in August 2020 stood at around 2,000 units. Apart from the price bump, there have been no mechanical or cosmetic updates to the Bajaj cruisers.
