  • Expected to be officially unveiled soon with the launch by mid-2024.

Based on the spy video, the interior of the Force Gurkha 5-door appears mostly identical to the current three-door model. The upcoming SUV will also feature a larger infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. However, there are some subtle distinctions, like the addition of an electronically operated four-wheel-drive selector. Additionally, as a longer SUV, it now offers captain seats for third-row passengers.

It also boasts design features like squared headlight casing with rounded LED units and redesigned dual-tone alloys, distinguishing it from the smaller (three-door) model. An external overhead snorkel, roof rack, and ladder might be optional extras limited to the off-road package.

Beneath the hood, the Gurkha 5-door is expected to be powered by the same 2.6-litre diesel engine found in the smaller three-door model, possibly re-tuned for higher performance figures than the 91 PS and 260 Nm it makes for the regular Gurkha. Transmission choices are likely to remain limited to a 5-speed manual. Similar to its smaller counterpart, it should come equipped with manual locking front and rear differentials to enhance its off-roading capabilities.

The Force Gurkha 5-door is anticipated to debut later this year with a price tag higher than the three-door model, which begins at Rs 15.09 lakh (ex-showroom). Serving as a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, it will be a direct rival to the forthcoming Mahindra Thar 5-door.
