Hyundai Creta N Line: Indian vs Brazilian model

UPDATE: Hyundai India has launched the Creta N Line from Rs 16.82 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Creta N Line, launching on March 11, marks the third model in Hyundai’s N Line range in India. And apart from it being available here, the performance-oriented SUV is available in international markets such as  Brazil. However, the Creta N Line we'll receive is based on the recently launched 2024 Creta facelift, unlike the Brazilian version based on the pre-facelift model. Here's a brief overview of how both the models differ.

Design

Since the Brazilian Creta N Line is based on the pre-facelift car, it features a rounded design with an aggressive blacked-out front grille and split LED headlamps. In contrast, the Indian model showcases a more muscular design with a sleek rectangular grille and connected LED headlights, giving it a sportier appearance.

The red design highlights flowing from the front bumper of the Indian Creta N Line onto the side sills and rear bumper are absent on the Brazil-spec model. Instead, the Brazilian N Line features a blacked-out front and rear bumper with a different skid plate design. Additionally, the India-spec Creta N Line rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, while the Brazil-spec version has 17-inch ones, each with its distinct multi-spoke design.

Moving on to the rear, the Indian Creta N Line boasts a more aggressive look compared to the Brazilian model, featuring connected LED taillamps and a redesigned bumper. The Indian model also sports N Line badging on the tailgate, while both models feature the same badging on the front grille, front fenders, and wheel caps to distinguish them from the standard Creta. Additionally, both models come equipped with a dual-tip exhaust system for a throatier engine note.

Interior

While both models feature an all-black interior theme, the India-spec Creta N Line does exude a more minimalist approach with its new dashboard design and sports red design elements throughout the cabin, notably the red ambient lighting.

Both models incorporate N Line-specific elements such as red seat upholstery, a 3-spoke steering wheel, and an N Line gear knob. However, the Indian model exudes a more modern feel with amenities like a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, which is absent in the Brazilian model.

Features

Except the digital driver’s display both the India-spec Creta N Line and Brazilian model come equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, drive mode selector, ventilated driver seats, wireless phone charger and connected car tech.

On the safety front, both get six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera and ADAS.

Powertrain

Another major difference between the Brazil-spec Creta N Line and the Indian model is in terms of powertrain. The former is equipped with a 120 PS/172 Nm 1-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, whereas the N Line model we get is powered by a 160 PS/253 Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Additionally, the Brazilian Creta N Line is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission only, while we have the option to choose between a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.

Hyundai is set to reveal the prices of the Creta N Line in India on March 11, 2024. We expect it to start from Rs 17.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the affordable 6-speed MT variant, going upwards of Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 7-speed DCT version. It will rival the likes of the Kia Seltos GT Line and VW Taigun GT.
