TVS Jupiter Pros and Cons
Jupiter Advantages
The mileage is fantastic, Impressive ride quality, The only 110cc scooter to get navigation feature
Jupiter Disadvantages
Design hasn’t been updated in a long time, Higher-end variants are expensive
Jupiter Expert's Conclusion
When you compare it to the well-praised Honda Activa, the Jupiter 110 stands out as a great feature-rich option with a good balance of mileage and practicality. While the Activa 6G has similar features, the Jupiter has a unique edge with its built-in smartphone connectivity features, including navigation. That's why it continues to be our top choice among 110cc family scooters in the market right now.
TVS Jupiter Expert Review
In a world where scooters try to be like motorcycles, the TVS Jupiter keeps it simple. Over the years, it has received several useful updates to stay relevant, ensuring it can hold its own against modern competition. Here’s how it does:
Design:
The TVS Jupiter still looks like it did eight years ago, and it's still charming, at least to us. The colors, especially the Royal Wine one, along with beige details and a bit of chrome, give it a fancy and high-quality vibe. The switchgear, and the panel quality are also pretty good.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
Powering the TVS Jupiter is a 109.7cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine, producing 7.88PS at 7500rpm and 8.8Nm at 5500rpm. The engine is smooth, provides a comfortable ride, and even though there might be a bit of roughness at low speeds, it disappears as you hit 35-40kmph. In our tests, the scooter gave a decent mileage of about 64.1kmpl in the real world.
However, it's worth noting that the 110cc engine may not be suitable for highway rides as it struggles to maintain speeds above 70kmph for a long time. Apart from that, the scooter offers satisfactory performance for city commutes.
Handling & Ride Quality
The Jupiter handles bad patches of roads quite well because of its soft suspension and the 3-step adjustable monoshock. It stays steady and doesn't feel wobbly, even when you're riding over bumps.
Talking about how it handles, the scooter feels quite nimble to navigate in traffic, and the 12-inch wheels give you confidence when turning. The TVS Jupiter stays stable even when you're going around corners at higher speeds, which is pretty cool. Depending on the version, you can have either a 220mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum, with CBS (combined braking system) as standard. The brakes give good feedback.
Comfort
The TVS Jupiter has an upright riding posture that makes the ride experience quite comfortable. There's plenty of legroom, even for taller riders, and the seat is comfortable. The 12-inch wheels make sure the scooter goes smoothly over rough roads. If you go for the top-end versions like the Classic or the ZX Disc SmartXonnect, they have a cushioned pillion backrest for extra comfort.
Features
The TVS Jupiter, in all the variants, gets an LED headlight, an external fuel filler cap, a pass-light switch, and alloy wheels, except for the Sheet Metal Wheel variant (SMW). There's a USB charging port on the front, and you can also choose to have one under the seat. The basic Jupiter has a regular analog instrument display, while the ZX variant has a semi-digital unit. The ZX SmartXonnect models (Disc and Drum) have an LCD screen with smartphone connectivity through the TVS SmartXonnect app, offering voice assistance, turn-by-turn navigation, and call and SMS alerts. The Classic variant, however, keeps it retro with an analog display. With various options, customers have a lot to choose from based on features and functions.
Should you buy the TVS Jupiter?
The TVS Jupiter is a reliable scooter with decent mileage and useful features. While it may not have the best performance, it still provides a smooth and trouble-free riding experience in the city, which is crucial for a family scooter.
In general, the Jupiter is a good option if you want something straightforward, dependable, and packed with features. However, if you're after a bit more performance and even better practicality, you might want to consider checking out the TVS Jupiter 125.

My Honest Experience with the TVS Jupiter
I have been riding my TVS Jupiter for over a year now and I must say, it has been quite the reliable companion on the city roads. With its 109 cc engine, the scooter provides a smooth ride with a decent mileage of about 62 kmpl which is pretty economical in today’s rising fuel price scenario. The Jupiter’s 21 liter under seat storage capacity is a real winning feature which allowing me to store everything from my laptop bag to groceries. The suspension could have been a bit more robust, specially on the pothole ridden streets of my city.
