ZigWheels to host its second Heritage Drive event at Fort JadhavGADH

Will be held from the 7-8th of May at the prestigious heritage fort located in the Jadhav Wadi District near Pune. Open to public viewing on the first half of Sunday 8th May 2011

A solid stone structure dating back to the time of the prosperous Maratha empire, amidst a breath taking scenery and delightful temples and forts in the surrounding region, Fort Jadhavgadh is a symbol of a 300 year rich Maratha history preserved in monolithic stone. Overlooking the lush highlands of southern Pune, this gallant fortress was the location of the first ever Vintage and Classic Car event of its kind to be organized in the state of Maharashtra.

Like in 2010, the ZigWheels – Fort JadhavGADH Heritage Drive 2011 will once again be held at the pristine location of its inaugural edition in 2010. Last years Heritage Drive witnessed participation by some of the finest Classic and Vintage Car and Bike specimens dating back to the early 20th Century like the 1939 Porsche Volkswagen Tempo Kubelwagen, the 1939 Buick Roadmaster Model 80C Phaeton, the 1938 Triump-Military and the celebrity owned 1939 Jaguar SS100. In its second edition, the ZigWheels Fort JadhavGADH Heritage Drive will once again involve a 14km drive of some of the most symbolic and well preserved automobiles and motorcycles from the fort to a nearby location and back. Also, one of the biggest attractions at this year’s event will be a special FIAT retrospective, which aims as showcasing some of the finest and best preserved FIAT models.

The ZigWheels - Fort JadhavGADH Heritage Drive 2011 will be flagged off at 4.30 p.m. on May 7, from Fort JadhavGADH, the world’s only heritage museum hotel. All interested Vintage and Classic car enthusiasts looking to get a glimpse of the rare vintage beauties taking part in the event are free to come and view the cars and bikes and interact with their intrepid crew from 9 am to 2pm on the 8th of April 2011.
