After receiving lukewarm response for the Mahindra Reva e2o which sold under-1,000 units last year, Mahindra Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd has introduced a new variant of the electric car with additional features.
As part of the company’s ‘Goodbye Fuel, Hello Electric’ programme, in Delhi, the Mahindra e2o Premium is available at Rs 5.72 lakh (on road, Delhi) with a monthly energy fee of Rs 2,999 which will allow the customer to drive about 50,000km for a period of five years.
The new Mahindra e2o Premium has been upgraded to offer an extended range of 120km and now includes a much needed electric power steering for ease of use. Mahindra e2o Premium will carry forward features from the standard model including an infotainment system, driver information display, rear camera and parking assist. The Mahindra e2o can also be synced with one’s smartphone to remotely access the electric car’s information such as battery levels, air-conditioning system and nearby charging stations.
The company claims to have installed about 300 charging stations across major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune, and hopes to add another 100 by the end of this year.
Besides this, Mahindra Electric Vehicles is also developing electric and hybrid variants of other Mahindra vehicles like the Mahindra Verito sedan and the popular Mahindra Maxximo commercial vehicle, which are expected to be introduced within a year’s time.
