Mahindra two wheelers will soon launch a revamped Rodeo, the Rodeo RZ. News of the updated Rodeo’s impending roll out comes close on the heels of the refreshed Duro DZ’s launch early this year. The Duro DZ received a raft of updates such as a clear-lens headlamp and improved instrumentation besides a more refined ride thanks to the telescopic forks up front.
Mahindra is expected to go along similar lines and, hence, expect the new Rodeo to sport some design changes. The company will also look to iron out some of the flaws in the existing Rodeo particularly complains regarding lower fuel efficiency.
The existing model comes with a full digital instrument cluster, front fuel filler, 4-in-1 anti-theft key, side stand buzzer and class-leading storage space, so expect the Rodeo RZ to have more features than the existing model. The existing model is powered by a 125cc petrol motor that generates 8.1PS of power @ 7,000rpm and 9Nm of torque @ 5,500rpm.
The Rodeo RZ, targeted at young, urban buyers, is expected to be priced in the Rs 45,000 range. “The Rodeo RZ is a powerful, high performance scooter that is loaded with a range of exciting unique features. It is sure to be an instant hit amongst young, modern couples who love riding this zippy, stylish scooter,” said Viren Popli, Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Customer Care, Mahindra Two Wheelers.
Mahindra’s two-wheeler offerings in India have so far been met with a lukewarm response. The company sold just 19,287 units of scooters from April to May 2012. However, sales numbers showed a dramatic improvement in May 2012 with Mahindra selling 9,096 units in just a single month.
