Toyota to reveal Auris hatchback, Auris Tourer and Verso in Paris

Toyota Auris

Toyota will take the wraps off its latest version of the Auris compact family vehicle at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The new Auris is a well rounded effort by Toyota to create a modern vehicle in terms of exterior and interior design while also focusing on higher efficiency and better drive dynamics.

In Paris, Toyota will be showcasing three Auris versions,  the hatchback, tourer and the Verso MPV. All three vehicles will be available in petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrain versions. Toyota expects an equal one-third split in sales of the three powertrain types in Europe.

While the Auris hatchback is a five-door hatchback, the Auris Tourer has a station wagon body style for enhanced practicality. The Verso people carrier gets updated interiors and exteriors. The vehicle will also get a re-engineered version of Toyota’s 2.0-litre D-4D diesel engine with stronger performance and lower emissions. The NVH levels for the Verso also have been brought down.

Toyota will also be showcasing the 2013 Yaris Trend which is a Yaris with more distinct styling to the interiors in the form of new textures, colours and finish. The Yaris trend is aimed at younger style conscious buyers.

The Toyota Racing Department (TRD) will be present too and will showcase aerodynamic and performance upgrades for the GT86 rear-wheel drive sports car. This is the first time TRD will officially make its components available in Europe.

And to give people a taste of the GT86 magic, Toyota will fix up a GT86 racing simulator that will have all the controls of the vehicle like steering wheel, brakes, gear lever, accelerator, etc. A high definition screen replaces the windscreen complete with a surround sound system to give enthusiasts the complete race track experience.
