SsangYong Tivoli crossover revealed

SsangYong has released the first official image of the production version of its new crossover – the SsangYong Tivoli. The new crossover draws its name from the city of Tivoli situated near Rome in Italy, and is deemed to be the most affordable offering from the South Korean carmaker.

This new crossover takes its design cues from SsangYong XIV-Air and XIV-Adventure concepts. The new SsangYong Tivoli sports a muscular appearance. The Tivoli gets sleek headlamps, creases that run across the side profile and fog lamps which are well integrated into the lower half of the front bumper. The rear end is simple and receives wrap-around taillamps.

The interior looks spacious and exudes a premium feel. The new Tivoli features a touchscreen display which is part of the infotainment system, a dual-zone climate control system, rearview camera and Bluetooth connectivity. It also packs a good seven air bags that take care of the safety part.

The new SsangYong Tivoli crossover will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. A 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engine which meets the Euro 6 emission standards is expected to do duty under this new crossover. The carmaker hasn’t revealed further specifications as of now.

The SsangYong Tivoli is scheduled to go on sale in South Korea in January and in other markets by mid-2015.
