The sports carmaker has sold a total of 1,89,850 new cars globally in the last calendar year registering a growth of 17 per cent

Porsche has registered a growth of 17 per cent by selling 1,89,850 new cars globally in 2014. The Stuttgart-based sportscar manufacturer also sold a good 20,644 vehicles in the month of December 2014, which is the highest ever monthly sales figure for Porsche in its entire history.

Discussing the growth in sales, Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales, Porsche AG, said, “For the fourth record year in a row there are very specific reasons: fascinating products and highly motivated employees. On top of that, our brand experienced an additional upswing in 2014 as a result of the successful launch of the Macan. Worldwide, seventy-five per cent of Macan customers were first-time buyers of a Porsche car.”

In the last calendar year, the United States stood on the top-spot with over 47,000 new cars being delivered. The Stuttgart-based sports carmaker also registered 25 per cent growth in China with car sales standing at 46,931 units.

During last year, about 45,000 examples of the new Porsche Macan were sold while deliveries of the Porsche Panamera increased by 13 per cent over 2013. Additionally, sales of the Porsche 911 sports car reached almost 30,000 figures representing a boost over the previous year.
