2014 Mahindra Scorpio Variants 1

The new and updated Mahindra Scorpio will be launched tomorrow and several details about the car have already started to trickle in. The new and updated Scorpio at first glance will offer much much more to the customer than it has ever done before. Still available with two engine options, the 2.5-litre m2DiCr which will power the base variant and the 2.2-litre mHawk engine that will power the rest, the Scorpio is well covered for a broad spectrum of buyers.

The Mahindra Scorpio will be available to the public in five different variants. Mahindra has ditched its old nomenclature setup i.e. ELX, VLX, SLX, etc for a simpler S2, S4, S6, S6+, S8 and S10.

New Mahindra Scorpio S2

The Mahindra Scorpio S2 will be available only with the 2.5-litre m2DiCr engine. Aimed at the likes of fleet and taxi operators, the engine is more of a workhorse and has been serving faithfully in the likes of the Bolero and the Thar for ages. The S2 will also come standard with features like air-conditioning, power windows, central locking and 15-inch steel wheels.

New Mahindra Scorpio S4

The 2.2-litre mHawk engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox will power the Scorpio S4. Apart from features like air-conditioning, power windows and central locking, the S4 will also get 17-inch steel wheels and a height adjustable steering wheel. The Scorpio S4 will also come with Mahindra’s micro hybrid start-stop package as standard and buyers can also opt for a four-wheel-drive variant, which comes with the electronic ‘shift-on-the-fly’ option.

New Mahindra Scorpio S6/S6+

The Scorpio S6/S6+ will also be powered by the same 2.2-litre engine. In addition to the features that are carry forwarded from the S4, the S6/S6+ will also get a 2-Din music system, keyless entry and a rear wiper/defogger package. The S6/S6+ also gets sliding middle row seats whereas the S6+ additionally gets airbags for the driver and front passenger. On the exterior front, the S6/S6+ will get body colored door handles and outside rear view mirrors, a rear spoiler and ski racks.

New Mahindra Scorpio S8

The Scorpio S8, along with all that is present in the S6+ variant also gets exterior features like the projector headlamps, front fog lamps and a silver finished skid plate. The S8 will also get a set of 17-inch alloy wheels and rear parking sensors. On the interior front, the 2-Din infotainment system comes as standard. The S8 also gets electronically adjustable ORVMs.

New Mahindra Scorpio S10

The top of the line Scorpio S10 truly comes jam packed with the most amount of gadgetry. Apart from everything that he S8 variant comes with, the S10 will be equipped with the LED daytime running light package combined with the ‘static bending technology’ equipped projector headlamps. The S10 also comes with a tyre pressure monitoring systems, a rain and light sensor and a speed alert system. The S10 also gets cruise control and steering mounted controls for the audio and Bluetooth. A new touchscreen infotainment system with inbuilt GPS also comes as standard on the 2014 Mahindra Scorpio S10 along with automatic climate control.

The top of the line S10 also gets Mahindra’s micro hybrid start-stop package as standard and buyers can also opt for a four-wheel-drive variant, which comes with the electronic ‘shift-on-the-fly’ option.
