Moto Guzzi V9 Roamer

Owned by the Piaggio Group, Italian motorcycle manufacturer Moto Guzzi is now accepting bookings for the V9 Roamer and V9 Bobber that are priced at Rs 13.3 lakh and Rs 13.4 lakh ex-showroom, respectively. A token amount of Rs 5 lakh is being accepted for booking at the Piaggio Group owned Motoplex showroom in Pune. The delivery of the bikes will be done within two months.

The Roamer and Bobber were unveiled by the Moto Guzzi at EICMA motorcycle show in Italy followed by their showcasing, along with other products, at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this year.

As far as looks are concerned, both the bikes are very similar to each other. The major noticeable differences are that the Roamer offers a  relaxed riding position as compared to the aggressive position of the Bobber. The Roamer gets 19-inch wheels at the front and 16-inch ones at the rear while the more custom oriented Bobber has 16-inch wheels at both ends with chunky tyres.

Both the bikes are powered by an all-new 850cc transverse V-twin air- and oil-cooled engine that produces 55PS of power at 6,250rpm and peak torque of 62Nm at 3,000rpm and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a new double-joint drive shaft.

MotoGuzzi offers the bikes with a wide range of accessories to customise like leather side bags, rear bags, flyscreen, chromed mudguards and billet aluminium fitting to name a few. The V9 series comes loaded with various modernised equipment such as the two-channel ABS, traction control with two different settings, immobiliser and USB port near the instrumentation panel for connecting external devices.

Currently, the company is importing these bikes as complete units for the orders they receive. Piaggio is also considering to have a CKD operation which will in-turn allow the brand to price their products more attractively.
