Maruti has a smart set of features chalked out for each Ciaz variant. Here's all you need to know about which variant to pick

If you have read our Maruti Ciaz review and seen our comprehensive Ciaz gallery, you must know by now that the Maruti Ciaz is rich with features. But that’s just the top spec variant we’ve driven. What kit do the other variants get and are they a sensible buy too? Find out in this detailed variants and features dissection of the Maruti Ciaz.

The Ciaz comes in four variants – V, V+, Z and Z+ for the petrol and diesel versions, V being the base spec and Z being the top-of-the-line variant. The V variant gets a good set of standard features for a base variant, which is impressive. What it also tells us is that Maruti isn’t desperately looking to get a headline price with a totally stripped out entry-spec variant. The V trim gets projector headlamps, power windows, turn indicators on ORVMs, audio system with USB port, four speakers and two tweeters, keyless entry, tilt adjustable steering, height adjustable seatbelts, chrome door handles on the inside, trip computer, manual air-con, rear AC vents, front and rear centre armrests and electrically adjustable ORVMs. You don’t get ABS and Airbags though in this trim.

Move up to the V+ trim and you get front fog lamps, reverse parking sensors, ABS and driver’s side airbag, automatic climate control, height adjustable driver’s seat, steering mounted audio and phone controls and Bluetooth connectivity over the features in the V trim. Again a variant that could find quite a few takers.

Then comes the Z trim which is expected to be feature rich, and it is. It gets 15 inch alloy wheels, outer chrome door handles, a combination fabric+leather seat upholstery, push button start/stop, reverse parking camera, co-driver airbag, silver finish inserts for the AC vents, rear windshield sun blinds and footwell lamps. If not for the Z+ trim, this could well have passed off as a top-trim with this features list.

Maruti Ciaz features in detail

The Maruti Ciaz Z+ trim gets the cream of features. In addition to what you get on the Z trim, you get larger 16 inch alloy wheels that we must say looks very attractive on our test car and chrome garnish on the trunk lid on the outside. Move in and you get full leather upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel, a touchscreen navigation system that doubles up as a display for the reverse parking camera and syncs with your smartphone, video and voice commands function.

The Ciaz is certainly very well kitted across variants and there doesn’t seem to be a single trim that could be totally unwanted. What this means is buyers across the Rs 7-10 lakh spectrum get a variant to choose without feeling shortchanged. Maruti has commenced bookings of the Ciaz today.
