All the budding Formula One racers in the country now have a place to not only go practice but also hone their behind-the-wheel go-karting skills as Rayomand Banajee, the man behind Rayo Racing, one of the most successful and established karting teams in the country – kick starts his go-kart training course in Pune and Mumbai. The Pune event is scheduled on 16th – 17th March, 2013 at the Downtown Racing Go-kart track in Kharadi, near EON IT Park.
While the Mumbai episode is schedule on 23rd – 24th March, 2013, at the karting circuit near Hiranandani Gardens in Powai, Mumbai. The two-day long training camp will be conducted by eight-time National Karting Champion. All interested drivers above the age group of six years can register for the two-day training camp, which will be operational from 11.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The two-day training course will include both classroom sessions as well as on-track driving lessons – post which each driver will be evaluated on their respective sessions. The Downtown Racing karting circuit located at Kharadi offers excellent karting setup with grippy surface and a well designed layout consisting of some tricky turns as well as some fast sections ideal for youngster to get their basics right.
Go-karting is said to be the stepping stone for young racers to learn the basics and master the skills of car racing from an early age eventually upgrading to faster and professional race-cars. Some of the best names in Formula One racing like Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and many more drivers have started their careers racing go-karts before climbing up the order.
