Ford Figo Aspire Variants explained

The Ford Figo Aspire is the newest addition in one of the biggest and most popular segments in the country, the compact sedan. The sub 4-meter category sedan, a segment that came about due to the government’s policy to curb congestion has grown from just one or two players to one of the highest grossing segment in terms of sales. The Ford Figo Aspire will slot into this segment well with its good looks, stylish interior and fun to drive aspect.

The Ford Fiesta Aspire will be available with three engine options. The petrol engines in the Ford Figo Aspire will include a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder motor with a manual gearbox and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder motor with an automatic gearbox. The 1.2-litre makes 88PS of peak power and 112Nm of peak torque and returns mileage of 18.6kmpl while the larger 1.5-litre makes 100PS and 136Nm of peak torque and returns mileage of 17kmpl. The diesel Ford Figo Aspire on the other hand is a 1.5-litre motor and makes 100PS of peak power and 215Nm of peak torque and returns a mileage of 25.83kmpl.

The Ford Figo Aspire will be available in four variants i.e. Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium+.

Ford Figo Aspire Ambiente:

1.2L Ti-VCT Petrol Manual Ambiente - Rs 4.90 lakh

1.5L TDCi Diesel Manual Ambiente - Rs 5.90 lakh

The Ford Figo Aspire in Ambiente variant will be available with only the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines with a manual gearbox. The car will get a set of steel wheels with 175/65 R14 tyres. The grille will feature a silver painted finish instead of the chrome that is available on the higher variants and black door handles with black outside rear view mirrors. This base variant will not get front and rear fog lamps. The rear accent piece on the bootlid will also be finished in a tone of silver instead of chrome. The base variant will also get a beige fabric interior.

Ford Figo Aspire Trend:

1.2L Ti-VCT Petrol Manual Trend - Rs 5.77 lakh

1.5L TDCi Diesel Manual Trend - Rs 6.77 lakh

The Ford Figo Trend will be available too with both 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines with a manual gearbox. The Trend will feature wheel caps on the steel wheels and a chrome grille and rear bootlid accent piece. In addition to whatever is available with the Ambiente, the Trend will come with front and rear fog lamps, body colored door handles and an electronically adjustable ORVM with inbuilt turn indicators. The Trend will also feature an inbuilt infotainment system with USB, Bluetooth and AUX inputs along with audio controls on the steering wheel.

Ford Figo Aspire Titanium:

1.5L TDCi Diesel Manual Titanium - Rs 7.70 lakh

1.5L Ti-VCT Petrol Automatic Titanium - Rs 7.80 lakh

The Ford Figo Aspire in Titanium trim is the only version which has all three engine options. Along with the 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel, this variant will also get the 1.5-litre petrol automatic. The Titanium will also get a perimeter alarm and height adjustable seats and seatbelts. The Titanium also gets climate control along with safety aids like ABS and EBD. The automatic variant will also get traction control, electronic stability control and hill start assist, which is also a first in class. The Titanium also gets a set of 14-inch alloy wheels which look quite stylish.

Ford Figo Aspire Titanium+:

 1.2L Ti-VCT Petrol Manual Titanium+ - Rs 7.25 lakh

1.5L TDCi Diesel Manual Titanium+ - Rs 8.25 lakh

The Titanium+ is the highest variant in the Ford Figo Aspire and comes with a host of additional features over the Titanium. The Figo Aspire Titanium+ comes with the Ford SYNC and AppLink control along with a large 4-inch infotainment screen. The Titanium+ also comes with a smart key that lets you program certain aspects of the car. The top of the line variant also gets a leather interior along with six airbags, both of which are a first in class feature.

The Ford Figo Aspire impressed us with its driving dynamics, diesel engine and ride comfort. The Aspire will go head to head against some of the largest selling cars in the country like the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Hyundai  Xcent and the Honda Amaze along with other competition like the Tata Bolt. We expect the Ford Figo Aspire to be priced well between Rs 5.5-8.5 lakhs and to sell well due to a multiple of factors which include the way it looks, well made interiors, interior space and of course the diesel engine.
