Ford Figo Aspire launch on August 12

Ford India has a lot planned for this year. They are planning to bring in a new Figo hatchback and the next-generation Endeavour. But before that, they will make their entry into the sub-4 metre class of cars. Ford has already commenced bookings for the Figo Aspire on July 27 and they have finally announced the launch date to be August 12. 

In terms of design the Figo Aspire will look similar to the larger Fiesta from the front. It has that Aston Martin inspired grille and the large headlights to go with it. The elegant design continues at the back with the flat but layered boot lid that sports a large strip of chrome. On the inside, the dashboard looks similar to what we’ve seen on the Fiesta and the EcoSport and we quite liked it. The dashboard holds the infotainment screen with bunch of buttons for phone and media controls. 

Under the hood, the Ford Figo Aspire will come with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 88PS and 112Nm. The diesel on the other hand gets a 1.5-litre unit that produces 100PS and 215Nm. Both these engines will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Ford India will also bring in an automatic with a 1.5-litre petrol unit that churns 110PS and 136Nm. 

The Ford Figo Aspire will have to hold its own against some very able cars like the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, the Honda Amaze, the Hyundai Xcent and the Tata Zest. And Ford want to make a place for them in this segment, they have to price the Figo Aspire just right. We expect it to range between Rs 5-8 lakh.
