2015 Fiat 500X SUV teased

Fiat’s new baby, the 2015 Fiat 500X, has been officially teased ahead of its global reveal at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. This new SUV will complete the Fiat 500 family line-up and will lock horns with cars such as the Nissan Juke, Ford EcoSport, Mitsubishi ASX, Skoda Yeti and Peugeot 2008 in the European markets.

The all-new Fiat SUV will look dramatically different to the Jeep Renegade with which it shares its platform. It will also share only vague graphic similarities with the rest of the Fiat 500 micro-car range, including its large rounded headlamps, with the rear-end looking more like that of a Mini Countryman's.

The Italian carmaker hasn’t revealed any mechanical details as of now, but we expect the Fiat MultiJet diesel and TwinAir petrol engines to do duty under the new 2015 Fiat 500X SUV. It could also share 1.4-, 1.6- and 2.4-litre four-cylinder engines with the Renegade, and front- and all-wheel drive versions are also expected.

Reports suggest the new 2015 Fiat 500X would be the largest member of the expanded Fiat 500 range, measuring at about 4,200mm in length. This new car will be built at the Italian carmaker’s Melfi factory in Italy alongside the Jeep Renegade.

The 2015 Fiat 500X is expected to go on sale in the European market in the first quarter of 2015.
