From a styling point of view, the new Multistrada has been revised and also features new graphics. Changes have been made to the windscreen movement as well as to seat adjustment and dimensions. The frame and subframe have been subtly changed with the luggage rack integrated more cleanly.
But what is more significant is the new engine equipped with Ducati’s variable valve timing. The new Testastretta 1198 DVT powerplant claims maximum power of 162PS at 9,500rpm and peak torque has increased from 124Nm at 7500rpm to 135Nm at the same rpm. The engine also has a much broader power curve starting as low as 2,000rpm.
The Multistrada also comes equipped with Ducati’s new electronics suite, including the Inertia Measurement Unit, which has traction control, four-mode ride by wire plus Ducati Wheelie Control. It also manages the latest Bosch Cornering ABS system. The electronically managed semi-active suspension, by Sachs, features an inverted 48mm fork and a single shock absorber.
The new Multistrada S also features a new full-LED headlight with corner-lighting technology. A Bluetooth connection has also been added, which will connect one’s phone to the bike’s entertainment system, called the Ducati Multimedia System.
