Sony to launch new XPLOD audio systems

New range of Sony audio-visual in-car entertainment systems to offer a wide range of functions with traditional Sony high-quality sound and hi-tech display units

XAV-701BT

Sony India will be stepping up their game in the in-car entertainment segment by launching four new touch screen audio systems later in 2012. The four models that will be introduced are XAV-701BT, XAV-601BT, XAV-64BT and XAV-63. 

The XAV-701BT and XAV-601BT audio-visual entertainment systems feature WVGA panel display units with touch screen capability. Both these units come with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, 6.1- or 7-inch touchscreens, Advanced Sound Engine with full digital processing and Virtual 5.1ch to deliver a high quality surround sound experience. 

Both the units can be synced to iPhones and iPods via USB to display TV Shows, movies and other compatible applications. The XAV-701BT and XAV-601BT audio-visual can also be synced to smartphones with MirrorLink. Once connected, the audio units can be used to make and receive calls, play music, use applications and use the phone’s navigation services on the touch screen display. Visuals are managed by  an enhanced fast-response GUI design and a 6 Pre-set visualiser, the display screen’s brightness can be adjusted and the wallpaper can be customised too.

XAV-601BT

The XAV-701BT is priced at Rs 33,990, while the XAV-601BT is priced at Rs 29,990. Both units will hit the market in June 2012.

The XAV-63 and XAV-64BT units aim to deliver premium functionality at an entry-level price. Like the bigger units, the XAV-63 and XAV-64BT feature 6.1-inch WVGA display screens with GUI design, USB connectivity, Digital Clarity Tuner, Advanced Sound Engine with full digital control. Both units feature iPhone and iPod touch compatibility with iPod video playback and Bluetooth on the XAV-64BT. 

XAV-64BT

The XAV-63 is priced at Rs 19,990 and will hit markets in April 2012, while the XAV-64BT is priced at Rs 24,990 and will be available from May 2012. 

The new range of Sony audio systems will be made available in car showrooms and accessory shops across the country.
