Steelbird is one of the leading helmet makers of India, predominantly known for its affordable helmets targeted at the large number of commuters. The company is now trying its hand at more premium helmets with the launch of its new helmet brand called ARES, as the company announced that it is targeted at ‘Professional Riders’.
Speaking about the new range of helmets Rajeev Kapur, Managing Director, Steelbird Helmets, said, “The product has been named after the Greek God of war. ARES signifies Steelbird’s crusade for riders’ safety and protection and also promises to take the street biking experience to a new level of safety, substance as well as style”.
Steelbird claims that ARES has been designed in Italy and uses high-end material like a special fabric which is also used by NASA for its astronauts. The Outlast Technology, originally developed for NASA, utilises Phase Change Materials (PCM) that absorb, store and release heat for optimal thermal comfort. The idea is to keep the helmet cool for a longer period of time, which would be useful in our hot and humid country.
The helmet also boasts of a strong outer shell, high density of EPS to absorb impact and imported, unbreakable visors available in different colours. It also has a unique visor locking system to ensure safety in case of accident and single push user friendly button to open the helmet. The ARES comes in a wide range of colours and design, including a ‘Vintage Range’ which has leather and denim finish options. The Steelbird ARES helmet is priced between Rs 2,999 to Rs 3,999 and is available at leading helmet stores.
