Toyota to launch restroom finder app soon

Carmakers have always tried to be innovative to lure customers. Their aim is to show their customers that they care for them. Toyota has come up with a unique app that will help its customers in Japan to find restrooms and locate routes.

The app will provide detailed information about facilities, such as ease of access to the restrooms located on highways and public roads. At present, the app offers information for three prefectures in the Tokai region (Aichi, Gifu and Mie). The company will launch this app on May 21, 2015.

Iseshima Barrier Free Tour Centre, a non-profit organisation, was put in charge of the development process of this app. Based on their interpretation of personal barrier-free standards, advice was sought on what type of information ought to be collected and provided, to make this app user-friendly.

Toyota will exhibit Restroom Finder app at the International Welfare and Health Industry Exhibition Welfare 2015, in Nagoya between May 21-23, 2015.
