Maruti Suzuki will be in for some rude shock as its upcoming new car codenamed the ‘YRA’ has been snapped inside out. The new Maruti Suzuki YRA will sit above the Swift and will be Suzuki’s next premium hatchback.
The YRA will borrow its design cues from the Swift and the Swift Dzire. The car will receive sweptback headlamps and V-shaped honey-comb grille. The front bumper gets a simple design with wide air-intakes, traditional fog lamps and a vertical strip of Daytime Running Lamps. The car gets chrome door handles, rear wiper and de-fogger and five-spoke alloy wheels. The rear bumper houses the number plate and reflectors at extreme ends. The YRA will be wider and roomier on the inside than the Swift.
Inside, the Maruti Suzuki YRA gets a black dashboard with silver accents. The instrument panel consists of two dials and an MID. At the centre of the dashboard is an infotainment system which is flanked by vertical air-conditioner vents on both the sides. The controls for the infotainment system and air-conditioner seem to have received a fresh design. Although, the pictures of the car reveal that its a left-hand drive, we expect a right-hand drive to come to the Indian shores.
Under the hood, the YRA is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre and a 1.4-litre petrol mill from the Swift and the Ertiga; along with the 1.3-litre diesel mill.
While there is no confirmation from the Japanese car maker with regards to the launch of the YRA, when it does hit the Indian shores, it will take on the likes of the Volkswagen Polo GT range, Fiat Punto Evo 90HP and of course the Hyundai Elite i20.
