It’s been more than six months since the 2015 Audi TT was spotted testing in Mumbai and now the German car maker seems to be ready to finally launch it in India.
The 2015 Audi TT draws its inspiration from the original TT as well as the Sport Quattro Concept. In fact, the new TT is more of an evolution of the second generation model but wears the same silhouette. That said, the front and the rear end of the car are now a lot sharper giving the Audi TT a more aggressive stance. At the front there is the trapezoidal family grille with sleek headlights with LEDs on either side of it. In profile, the bulging wheel arches give the TT a sporty stance. The rear sports a new bumper and LED taillights and is now a lot edgier than its previous model.
In India, the test mule that was spotted was the 2.0-litre TFSI Quattro that makes 233PS of power and 370Nm of torque. The second generation Audi TT was on sale in India only in the petrol trim but the introduction of the 2015 TT in India is a good time for the German car maker to bring in the diesel variant as well. The Audi TT diesel comes with a 2.0-litre TDI heart that makes power of 184 horses and 380Nm of torque. Both variants will come mated to a six-speed S tronic dual clutch gearbox.
The Audi TT will slot right below the BMW Z4 and the Porsche Boxter and is expected to be priced at around Rs 60 lakh.
