Zigwheels explores how it feels to have a 1933 Dodge Brothers convertible parked right next to you while you enjoy your favorite meal. Mr. Madan Mohan's 21 gun salute is a restaurant with a difference.

While going in a restaurant in Delhi, everyone has something to offer from their set of ideas. From traditional looks to water flowing from under the table to a restaurant made out of ice. But, who would’ve thought that while having a quite evening at your favorite place, you could admire a set of wheels parked right in the centre of the dining area. These machines would not be your regular daily use cars, but, vintage. From the Austin Chummy to the original Dodge Brothers to the Nortons and Sunbeams, it surely is eye-candy to all those who come and visit the latest foodie joint in Delhi-NCR-21 Gun Salute.

Run by Mr. Madan Mohan, a vintage car lover and Managing Director of Deneb & Pollux, this new restaurant is touted to be a tribute to the celebration of the automobile as well as a royal dining experience. Basically, as Mr. Mohan pointed out, each customer should feel as though they are part of royalty and are availing the good life that has been dished out to the kings and queens of the past. The vintage cars and bikes add to that glamour and bygone past and helps enhance the entire atmosphere.

21 gun salute offers this in a way that makes its customers feel no less than the maharajahs of the early times. As you enter the restaurant, you are welcomed by a 1933 Dodge Brothers convertible, a massive car known not just for its size, but, also for its performance. You walk down the aisle and a Norton and a Sunbeam are parked to give you company. And as you move to the end, the “Baby Austin”, a rage in its time for its cuteness, gives you the feel of no less than a maharajah of a township.

“Getting the feel of a maharajah without cars is impossible. These cars were not just point A to point B cars. They were known a lot more for their sentimental value as well. Apart from the fine dining experience, Madan Mohan intends on offering his guests with vintage car rides as he intends on keeping a few cars parked outside his restaurant for this purpose. Morever, if you wish to throw a theme party, he can provide cars to pick and drop you from your house in pure vintage style!

As a collector, Mr. Mohan has a collection of 200 vintage cars and jeeps and 80 bikes which includes the V-twin, 350cc, liquid cooled Vellocette. He also plans to open up a museum soon. This museum will be no less than an epic to the Indian Motoring History. “Not only will I open a Museum soon, I will also keep changing cars and the heritage pictures of Maharajahs every two months which will give our regular customers a change from the earlier,” added Mr. Madan
