Mahindra launches Ssangyong Rexton RX6 at Rs 19.75 lakh

2014 Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton RX6

India’s leading SUV maker, Mahindra & Mahindra has launched a new variant of the Ssangyong Rexton, the RX6, with manual transmission. The RX6 version will be in addition to the existing range and will come with a host of features which the other manual gearbox equipped Ssangyong Rexton did not offer as of now. The currently sold range includes RX5 entry level manual variant and the top-of-the-line RX7 model which comes with E-tronic automatic gearbox with Mercedes-Benz technology. According to Vijay Nakra, Vice-President, Sales (Automotive Division), Mahindra & Mahindra, the Ssangyong Rexton range sold about 1,850 units in the FY 2013-14, and has become the second best-selling brand in the high-end SUV segment. 

The Ssangyong Rexton RX6 comes with a 340Nm, a 2.7-litre RX270 XDi turbocharged diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The new RX6  version introduces additional features to the manual range of the Ssangyong Rexton including leather upholstery, electrical sunroof, 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, automatic headlamp, rain sensing wipers and the 4x4 Torque on Demand system with low ratio. The new Ssangyong Rexton RX6 is priced competitively at Rs 19.75 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).
