In the JK Tyre MMS Rotax Max Kart Open 2013 which was held at the Kart Center in Hyderbad, Meco Racing driver Yash Aradhya won the title in the Micro Max category. The nine year old bagged five wins, four second places and one third place finish securing 95 points in all.
In his debut with Meco Racing last year, Yash was a runner-up in the JK Tyre Rotax max Rookie Cup. He was exceptionally good from the start itself and this year the nine year old has managed to dominate the Micro Max category.
On winning his first title Yash said, “Though yesterday was not a very great day for me, we made up with a great performance today despite the tough competition. I am glad to have won the title and I hope to continue the form in the upcoming season.”
Meco Motorsports mentor Akbar Ibrahim said, “In my opinion, Yash is one of the country’s gifted drivers who will, with the right encouragement and under the right supervision, go on to do just that. Yash has the raw talent that can be shaped to take on the Challenges. We expect to see great things from him in the coming season, and in the years to come.”
The local lad will go through intense training on Indian and international circuits and the next podium he eyes is the Rotax Max National Championship. Talent spotted in these young age groups is what can be nurtured to higher levels of motorsport. Karting being the first step to F1, provides a huge pool of talent to choose from the grassroots of racing.
