The Light Specialist Vehicle may look outdated but its rugged nature has proven its worth and its mammoth size allows it to be used for a number of purposes

Vectra Light Specialist Vehicle

Vectra Engineering’s light weight cross country vehicle, the Light Specialist Vehicle is designed to take on highways with as much ease as tricky terrain in uncertain weather. The ladderframe chassis and its optional hydraulic anti-lock braking system seem ancient but have proven their worth over decades. As a low cost capable off-roader the Light Specialist Vehicle from Vectra Engineering makes a good case for itself.

The Vectra Light Specialist Vehicle can be specified either as a soft top or hardtop. It was designed to serve multiple purposes such as movement of small teams of personnel, running reconnaissance runs, patrolling, weapons and equipment carrier, cargo carrier or even as an ambulance.

The Vectra Light Specialist Vehicle like all standard military vehicles comes with four-wheel drive. Though the vehicle looks dated it comes with an automatic gearbox. There is even an option of fitting air-conditioning equipment. The Light Specialist Vehicle is not a full time all-wheel drive vehicle, but its transfer case comes with two-wheel drive, four-wheel high range and four-wheel low range.

The Light Specialist Vehicle comes with run-flat tyres as standard and has a provision for mounting an in-service machine gun with 2,000 rounds storage facility and a removable telescopic mast on the bonnet. The mammoth size of the Light Specialist Vehicle comes into play with an internal stowage facility for rations and water for six men that can last 72 hours.
