The new Jaguar XE sedan is back in spotlight once again. The British carmaker has confirmed to unleash its new sedan on September 8, before its official debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, which is scheduled to take place in October.
Jaguar has recently revealed that its baby saloon will be based on the ‘IQ Al’ aluminum structure, and will be powered by the Ingenium four-cylinder engine range. The British marquee has now confirmed that its new sedan will also sport an aluminum wishbone front setup inspired by the Jaguar F-Type.
The new Jaguar XE will also use an integral link independent rear suspension design, which the British carmaker claims will give better ride comfort. This upcoming new sedan will be equipped with an electric power assist steering (EPAS) and a new rear-wheel-drive traction system dubbed All Surface Progress control.
Jaguar states that the XE sedan will be its first model to use EPAS. The British carmaker claims that its EPAS includes features such as variable steering damping, enhanced low-speed manoeuvring and greater control through the Jaguar Drive Control System.
The British carmaker has also given details about its All Surface Progress Control System. Jaguar claims that this system will function like a low-speed cruise control to deliver optimum traction in the most slippery conditions without skidding and without the driver requiring to use the pedals.
The new Jaguar XE is expected to go on sale in Europe early next year. We expect this new sedan to come to India soon after.
