The Swift was never a car that was made out of scratch. Behind the scenes, Suzuki made possibly the best hatchback with loads of man-hours going in just designing the car. The Suzuki Hayabusa was the first step to the conception. Being the world’s fastest production motorcycle in the world, the Busa not only has road presence, it can make any grown-up’s heart skip a beat. So, a head-turner on four wheels was the first step.
The next plunge for the Swift was the daringly styled concept car, the GSX R4 in 2001 which gave birth to the Concept S, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 2002, a technologically advanced rally-inspired car. Not to lose the panache that the Concept S, the Concept S2, unveiled in 2003 was intentionally given an open-top convertible makeover.
During the mid-2000, a team of 21 engineers played an important role in introducing the Swift as we know it now, on a global platform. The Maruti Suzuki Swift became every boy’s dream and a fan following which has still not been taken over. The finely contoured piece of work was unveiled on 25 th of May, 2005. Taking the same passion to an all new level, you surely know that this crown jewel came with a lot of commitment behind it.
