Homegrown automaker, Tata Motors, is planning to launch 100 new commercial vehicles by 2018. To achieve this goal the company plans to raise Rs 7,500 crore from its existing share holders via a rights issue.

The company has stated that the capital obtained from the rights issue will be invested to launch the 100 new products/variants in the domestic as well as the international market. These new products include the launch of the Ultra range of mid-weight trucks, and a widened Prima range. The company also plans to invest on a modular passenger car platform to launch new products in 2016-17.

The automaker also plans to launch 40 new products in Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). The company aims to enhance the manufacturing capacities of JLR in the UK, with plans of operational expansion in China and Russia. The automaker also plans to spread its wings into new export markets such as Australia, Philippines and Vietnam.
