Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd sold 33,287 units in May 2015, compared to 32,117 units in 2014, registering a growth of 3.64 per cent.

“Suzuki continues to experience positive growth in sales, even as the Indian economy struggles onto a recovery path. We have witnessed an upward growth trajectory since the launch of the Suzuki Gixxer and are confident that Suzuki will continue to experience this growth in the months to come,” said Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, SMIPL.

Suzuki has maintained consistent growth over the last few years, with sales primarily kicking in from its automatic scooter segment. The launch of the 150cc motorcycle Suzuki Gixxer, has also added some numbers to Suzuki’s motorcycle sales. Buoyed by the response to the Gixxer, more recently, Suzuki has also launched a full faired version of the Gixxer, calling it the Gixxer SF.

Suzuki says the company will continue to focus on niche segment bikes of 150cc and above, as it chases over 30 per cent rise in sales in the current fiscal, with an annual target of over 5 lakh units .  Suzuki’s sales and service network has always been cause for concern for consumers, despite high quality products from the Japanese two wheeler makers’ Indian arm. The company is looking to expand its sales network with a target to set up 1500 touch points by March 2016.
